| 摘要: | 文化教育是國家未來發展的主要力量，而藝術休閒亦將成為現代人生活中的主要休閒活動；因此政府近年來積極展開各項文化建設，在硬體方面：興建各類型的展演空間，包含博物館、演藝廳、音樂廳、歌劇院、美術館、科博館、工藝館。在軟體方面：制定相關文化法條、扶植國內藝術表演團隊、培育藝術表演人才、舉辦各類地方文藝季、更推出社區總體營造計畫，希望藉由文化建設多元面向的積極推廣，近一步提升居民生活環境與精神品質。 特色場館是地方文化活動與民眾溝通的橋樑，透過這個橋樑可以搭起文化的傳承與創新。同時，特色場館本身除了場地的供給之外，必定有其他相關的效應能量可加以運用。藉由有形的場地，有意的作為，將科學教育活動在無形中結合於居民日常生活中；並透過不斷的推廣、宣傳，改變居民基礎的文化生活模式，延續地方傳統、凝聚地方的認同、造就地方的共識，發展出屬於自己獨特的文化空間，對居民的精神生活與提升居民的文化水準，具有相當大的影響力。 本研究以個案研究的方式，藉由深度訪談、文獻分析，次級資料的蒐集，探討嘉義縣北回歸線太陽館成立後，對地方文化活動推廣、地方文化保存、學校及科學性社團合作、館區場地空間安排等，各方面所產生的影響。並進一步分析、歸納，試圖建構出具體、並能有效執行之建議，提供嘉義縣北回歸線太陽館做為未來經營規劃參考。
