    Abstract:   佛法之所以有三乘之分,實為世尊為度化不同根性眾生,以其方便力所作的善巧施設,並非是截然對立的三法,反而皆是聖者所稱歎的。聲聞乘與菩薩乘之所以別異,是從眾生邊來論的,是從教法施設來論的,並非真如實相上的差異,亦非世尊說法智慧上的差異。茲再從另一角度來看,所謂:法不孤起,仗緣方生。一切世出世間法,無不依緣而生,實皆無自性,即便是一乘法,亦不過是開權顯實之用而已,何曾有自性一乘法的存在。此義就如世尊付法予迦葉時所說一樣:法本法無法,無法法亦法,今付無法時,法法何曾法。藉此偈頌也可以瞭解,三乘法並無本體上的差異。   誠如以上所說,既然聲聞乘與菩薩乘之間,不論從教法起源皆承世尊來看,或是從所依理體皆歸緣起性空來看,皆得以會通一處,自然兩者在實踐運用上,必也不會互相捍格。但又因探究聲聞乘與菩薩乘二者細部意涵,以筆者能力恐非一蹴可幾,所以筆者於本文並非係對二者修行的次第作探討,僅就針對二者於:「正性離生」、「無生法忍」、「菩提心」、「悲心」、「四無量心」等一般廣泛被學者討論的議題,而二者於此類議題的箇中意涵為何?作為本文的研究核心。
