本文主要說明丹托藝術終結論，探討藝術是否如同丹托所說已走向終結；這個問題，筆者嘗試從村上隆之藝術創作為例，來探討丹托之理論，指出藝術在大眾文化方面有其發展方向。丹托認為藝術終結之後會有兩種結果，其一、藝術走出藝術品，從作品之外延來說明；其二、則是藝術會走向完全自由的多元主義。而當藝術走向完全自由的多元主義之後，就是作為大眾文化的動、漫畫也能成為藝術。因而村上隆之例乃可支持丹托之自由多元主義。 In this essay I explore the theory of Danto who holds the viewpoint of the end of arts, and therefore to discuss whether the arts come really to an end as Danto said. I try because of such problem to reveal Danto's theory by the art works of Takashi Murakami, and to indicate the direction of development of arts in public culture. Danto thinks that there will be two results after the end of art: firstly, the arts outside of artworks, to explain the works from their extension. Secondly, the arts will become complete freedom of pluralism. And when the arts become complete freedom of pluralism, the popular culture as animation and comics can be arts. That is why Takashi Murakami's case can support Danto's freedom pluralism.
