To care for the disadvantaged minority and to execute the fairness of digital opportunity are the priorities of government policy in practicing information communication construction and government service. However, Chiayi County which is founded based on agriculture, the number of children raised by grandparents has outnumbered other counties. Consequently, resulting in a prominent digital divide among students. In the coming age of information technology and digital learning, the digital divide on primary school students’ chance of using information technology, access content, information literacy and digital health literacy has all shown to have great influence on students’ learning. This research is aimed to study the digital divide of primary school students in Chiayi County. 5th and 6th graders students of Hsingang Township in Chiayi County are interviewed by questionnaires and the data of 704 samples are analyzed by means of various statistical methods, such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA. The main findings of the study are as follows,1.The Digital divide situation of Chiayi County primary school students are not significant. However there is a need for increasing children’s access to information technology.2.Based on the data collected from the digital divide questionnaires, students has obtained highest scores on “information literacy”, and the lowest scores on “chance to access information technology”.3.The differences of the students digital divide situations are as follows,(1)There was significant difference in the “information literacy” between the elementary school students with different gender, and the schoolgirls’“information literacy” was significantly higher than the schoolboys.(2)In terms of grade and students’ digital divide, sixth graders score better results than fifth graders.(3)In terms of the weekly hours of using computer, more hours has shown better results than fewer hours.(4)In terms of weekly hours online usage more hours of usage performed better results than fewer hours.(5)In terms of computer equipment, having computers with internet scores better results than without them.(6)In terms of parents’ supporting attitude, encourage attitude and guidance performed better than forbidding attitude.(7)In terms of number of days per week utilizing computers and online services at Hsingang Foundation or Library, usage of 1 or 2 days performed better than never been to.
