Taiwan is going to be the developed country, we found accident mortality is decreasing; however, suicide mortality has increased rapidly, and will put on the list of high suicide standard countries by WHO. This study hopes to investigate the correlation between social & economic factors and ascending suicide mortality and descending accident mortality; besides, to understand the differences between the different genders, ethnic groups and areas. This study is an empirical analysis for the existing database of government agencies, and use tools of statistical correlation, regression, grey forecasting and time series to explore the correlation between variables and forecast the trends. This study also found that the selected positive & negative socio-economic factors and suicide & accidental mortality were significantly positive and negative correlation; different gender, ethnic and areas in suicide and accident mortality rates also found significant differences; In addition, forecasted the trend of suicide and accident mortality rates in Taiwan will continue ascending and descending. This study recommended the relevant government departments should be more active to improve related socio-economic factors in order to effectively reduce suicide and accident mortality.
