The funeral ceremony is a product of culture with an historical origin and development context. With social changes and the increasing rate of cremation, the traditional bone collecting custom is being gradually ignored and forgotten. The bone collectors who are regarded as mysterious and minorities in society left historical data for academic study, which has become a priority for now. This paper studies the life experience of the bone collectors, selecting four bone collectors with over 20 years of experience as the research subjects. The data were obtained through an in-depth interview method. It attempts to understand their reasons for choosing the occupation and learning about the bone collecting process as narrated and discussed by the said subjects themselves. It also discusses the common characteristics of the bone collectors and the effect of their work on their interpersonal relationships and their views about life and death. According to the conclusions obtained from the study: 1. Being a bone collector is an occupation with no future. 2. Bone pickup masters work in accordance with their conscience and moral beliefs. 3. Their interpersonal relationships are alienated. 4. They learn to live after being made aware of death all the time as a result of their occupation. 5. The mission has a significant effect on the bone collecting work. 6. There is no need to establish a license issuing system for the bone collectors.
