    Title: 植物人家庭照顧者之生命意義與家庭動力之探討

    Abstract:   本論文研究目的:一、探討植物人家庭照顧者的身心負荷、壓力及轉化。二、探討植物人家庭照顧者之生命意義。三、根據研究結果提出建議供有關單位之參考。   本研究以質性研究的深度訪談為方法,藉由深度訪談,得以了解家人在照顧的過程中與患者共生、共構的感受與經驗,並探其生命的意義及家庭動力。   本研究結果:一、植物人家庭照顧者之共同特色:(一)對個案的意外全盤接納(二)心情調適坦然面對(三)彼此分工合作全心全意地照顧(四)彼此相互照顧扶持(五)有愛的家庭(六)體認「愛要及時,把握當下」珍惜身邊的每一個人(七)對患者永不放棄懷抱希望。二、暉仔家庭照顧者之特色:(一)將孫子的呼喚聲、歌聲、笑聲錄製成 MP3,置於暉仔的床頭,隨時播放刺激暉仔。(二)女兒時常以電話和爸爸聊天,刺激爸爸,而以前不敢與爸爸的對話,已能勇敢說出。(三)能將自己的壓力及負荷適時轉化,體諒媽媽照顧的辛苦,帶媽媽出遊,以調適壓力及負荷,令充滿能量。(四)對健康的重視、新知的充實、並做好人生規畫。(五)面臨救與不救之間的兩難,而能突破。三、阿頡家庭照顧者之特色:(一)以歡喜心、正向信念陪阿頡走過病痛黑暗期。(二)照顧過程中家人與阿頡的互動、對話、激勵,阿頡逐漸清醒,咿咿呀呀的學說話,帶給家人希望無窮。(三)在阿頡面前跳舞唱歌,帶動家庭的熱絡氣氛,刺激阿頡。(四)帶阿頡出遊訪親友,增進人際互動。(五)學校將惜福餐費捐助阿頡,阿頡父母將捐款回贈校方,當獎學金助清寒學生。四、在照顧的困苦中尋獲新的生命意義:(一)兩個家庭共通的生命意義-愛的力量。(二)家庭的動力來自於美滿的家庭。(三)家人共同承擔懷抱希望生命的積極度,及生命鬥士予人的激勵。(四)家庭動力的展現,來自中國傳統美德五倫十義。(五)兩個個案之家庭照顧者的生命故事,激起社會大眾的敬佩,並產生示範的作用。   根據本研究的發現,針對醫護人員、相關醫療單位、社會大眾及未來研究者,提出建議以供參考。
      One purpose of this study is to exlore the caretakers’ physical and mental burden, stesss and transformation of the people in a persistent vegetative state (PVS). Another purpose is to discuss the meaning of the caretakers’ life. The other purpose is to make suggestions based on the study results to the authorities concerned. This research resorts to in-depth qualitative interviews, by means of which we can get to know better the symbiosis feelings and experiences in the process of caring for the patients, and further to explore the meanings of life and family dynamics.    The following are the research results.   First, the common characeristics of the caretakers: (A) total acceptance toward the accident (B) being comfortable with the mood adjustment (C) division of labor dedicated to taking care of the patient (D) mutual support and understanding among the caretakers (E) a family full of affection (F) realization that “love in time, seize the moment, and cherish each other” (G) never give up on the patient   Second, the common features of Johnny’s family: (A) record the call, singing and laughter into MP3, put it on the bed, and play it repeatedly to stimulate the patient (B) His daughter often talks to him over the phone to stimulate him;whereas, she even dare not speak out her mind before. (C) Family members can release their pressure and reduce the workload by showing concern over Mom’s hardship and taking her out for a trip to help relieve her pressure and burden, which enables her to come back full of energy. (D) Put stress on health, enrich knowledge and plan for life beforehand. (E) Break through the dilemma in the face of saving or not saving the life.   Third, the common features of Jackie’s family: (A) With a loving heart and positive thinking, the whole family work together to see Jackie through the difficulty. (B) In the process, Jackie is gradually awaking and able to babble or even to talk through the interaction and stimulation with his family, which brings hope to them. (C) Singing and dancing in front of Jackie, the whole family bring out a warm atmosphere and stimulate Jackie (D) They take Jackie to visit relatives and friends, improving interpersonal interactions. (E) Jackie’s parents return the donation from the school as a scholarship to help students in need   Fourth, family members are able to find new meanings of life during the process of caretaking. (A) The common meaning of life shared by two family is the power of love. (B) The family dynamic brings about a harmonious family. (C) The positive attitude coming from sharing all the burden together brings hope to everyone. (D) The demonstration of family dynamic can be traced back to Chinese traditional five ethics and ten doctrines. (E) The life stories of these two families caring for the patients set a good example to society and arouse admiration among the public.    According to the discoveries from this research, this thesis provides medical staff , related mecical units, the public and potential researchers with suggestions for reference.
