Audience’s competence of interpreting cultural product has been addressed recently. Based on the postmodern discourses toward audience subjectivity, this study explores the ways of TV viewing in the family with their parents among young adults as the practice of everyday life. The study raises de Certeau’s concepts of consumption, the action of “making”. He believed that at first everyday practice is need to analyze the manipulation of the consumption by users. Users make countless transformation of and within the dominant cultural economy to adapt it to their own interests and their own rules. This study attempts to demonstrate how young adults execute their filial piety by watching TV with their parents. With more aspects examined, multiple methods utilized, young adults were found to transform their TV consumption (production)into creative and personalized practice of filial piety.
