近年來中美合拍片在中國巨額電影票房市場上找到共同利基,已成為未來中國電影 的主流,但是在合拍片裡隱藏的意識型態價值,就往往是中美兩國文化外交爭霸、軟實 力較勁的再現。為此,本研究分析中國國家廣電總局統計從 2001年~2012年的中美合 拍片,試圖獲致 3個研究目的: 首先,透過深度訪談,分析中美合拍片的電影產製模 式為何?其次,檢視中美合拍片,其文本體現了何種中國形象?這些中國形象是否仍將 中國視為落後、低等、殘暴、愚昧、專制的符號象徵?還是基於中國電影市場的龐大利 益,開始對中國國家形象描述轉趨友善?第三,將中美合拍片置於中國文化外交的架構 下,檢視 2001年~2012年中美合拍片裡的中國形象,呈現了何種變化? Chinese-American movie co-productions have found their niche in recent years regarding the billion-dollar box office market in China. It has also become a trend for movie production in China. However, when it comes to the ideology embodied in the co-produced movies, a representation of the battlefield where China and America fighting over the reign of culture and diplomacy as well as competing soft skills is then revealed. This study therefore attempts to focus on the Chinese-American co-produced movies from 2001 to 2012 with the following 3 purposes: First, to analyze the production model of these co-produced movies through in-depth interviews; secondly, to review what images and how China was presented in these movies. Was China’s image still parallel to uncultivated, inferior, dumb, cruel and autocratic? Or was the depiction of the country turning friendly owing to the great interest expected from China’s box office market? Finally, to place the Chinese-American co-produced movies in the framework of China’s cultural diplomacy to review the changes of China’s image from 2001 to 2012.
