Abstract:	本書主要目標是：（一）分析龍樹中觀的核心洞見，包括空性、緣起和假名。據此（二）衍生出三個觀察現象的觀點，即不二見、關係論和過程論。（三）分析性地凸顯其與社會學視野的關連性。（四）超越「非此即彼」的思維模式，如二元論、實體論和虛無論。（五）檢視社會學方法論，藉以超越二元化的實體論，如方法論個體主義/方法論集體主義，從而提出方法論上的關係過程論。（六）以關係過程論的中觀思想超越實證主義、詮釋主義、相對主義和虛無主義。（七）以中觀思想超越社會理論中的二分法。（八）分析自我與社會的本體論構成。以及（九）形塑基於中觀的閱讀策略，包含症狀、同情和綜合性的閱讀。 The book aims（1）to elaborate the basic insights of Nagarjuna’s Middle Way perspective, which are emptiness, dependent co-arising and verbal designation.Then,derived from these insights, （2）to articulate three ways of thinking, which are non-dualistic view, relational view and processual view, （3）to analytically emphasize its relevance to the sociological way of seeing the world,（4）to transcend the fallacies of “either-or” ways of thinking, such as dualism, substantialism, and nihilism, （5）to examine the methodologies used in the social sciences in an attempt to transcend dualistic substantialism—methodological individualism versus methodological collectivism—I propose a relational-processual methodology,（6）to go beyond positivism, interpretism, relativism and nihilism using a relational-processual Middle Way perspective and Gadamerian hermeneutic approach,（7）to engage a Middle Way examination of the theory of society that transcends theoretical dichotomization, （8）to analyze the ontological make- up of the self and the social, and（9） to formulate a Middle Way reading strategy, which comprises symptomatic, sympathetic and synthetic reading simultaneously.
