    Abstract:   本研究旨在探討佛教推廣書籍閱聽人人口特徵、閱讀動機及閱讀效果,以及閱讀動機和閱讀效果相關情形,並進而分析閱讀動機對閱讀效果的解釋力。   本研究的母群體為雲林縣有看過佛教推廣書籍之閱聽人,屬於便利取樣,共發出550 份問卷,有效問卷512 份,回收有效率93%。   本研究採用問卷調查法,研究者自編「佛教推廣書籍閱讀動機與閱讀效果量表」,以描述性統計、t 檢定、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關、多元迴歸等方法實施檢定分析。主要研究結果如下:一、雲林縣有看過佛教推廣書籍的閱聽人以女生佔大多數且已婚的比較多,教育程度以大學(大專)佔最多,接觸年資以二年以下的最多,非佛教徒看的人只略低於佛教徒,以相關心得小品文(含論著類)最受歡迎。二、不同人口統計變數的閱聽人在閱讀動機上部份具有顯著差異。三、不同人口統計變數的閱聽人在閱讀效果上大部份具有顯著差異。四、佛教推廣書籍閱聽人的閱讀動機與閱讀效果達顯著正相關。五、佛教推廣書籍閱聽人的閱讀動機能有效預測閱讀效果。根據研究結果提出建議,供印經會及助印人未來助印的參考,及學術界後續研究之建議。
     This study aims to investigate the readers' traits, reading motives and readingeffects on books popularizing Buddhism as well as the correlation between the reading motives and reading effects. The research hopes to further analyze the predictadility reading motives have had on reading effects. The suggestions concluded based on the study plan to provide references to associations or sponsored individuals that publish Buddhistic books and to follow-up research in related academic field.  The prime subject group of this study refers to readers in Yun-lin County who haveread books popularizing Buddhism. It's a convenience sampling, releasing 550questionnaires with 534 returned and, among them, 512 proved to be effective.  This study adopts questionnaire as the means of doing survey. The researcherherself designs “Questionnaire of evaluating readers' traits, reading motives and readingeffects,” using descriptive analysis, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation,Multiple Regression to practice the analysis. The main findings are as follows:1. In Yun-lin County, female readers who have read books popularizing Buddhismoutnumber male readers. Readers with a bachelor's degree remain the majority.The largest group of reading age is under two years. The number ofnon-Buddhist readers is slightly smaller than the number of Buddhist readers.The most popular booklets are essays related to readers' feedbacks after reading.2. Different statistic variations of readers' reading motives are partly significant.3. Different statistic variations of readers' reading effects are greatly significant.4. Readers' reading motives and reading effects on books popularizing Buddhismare positively correlated.5. Readers' reading motives on books popularizing Buddhism can effectivelypredict the reading effects.
