外商銀行這幾年在台積極發展企業金融與消費金融業務,分行家數不足一直是外銀擴展業務的一大障礙,外商銀行看好台灣經濟成長前景與眾多的本地客戶及台商客戶商機,透過併購可取得更多分行據點,擴大在台規模,對於本國銀行必帶來壓力與衝擊。本文主要藉由實地訪談的問卷調查方式,瞭解台灣地區在地銀行分行經理主管針對外商銀行併購本國銀行後對在地銀行所產生的影響衝擊,以主觀評估所面臨潛在可能的影響衝擊程度的認知程度與未來的因應策略。本研究發現開放外商銀行併購本國商業銀行後,將導致地處鄉村地區的在地金融機構業務的競爭,特別是企業金融業務(例如中小企業放款等業務)的衝擊較大。相較於鄉村地區,都會區的在地金融機構則偏向於消費金融的競爭,在地金融機構應調整其個人理財專員的人力培訓,與提高消費金融服務業務的多元化,以因應財富管理擅長的外商銀行競相爭取其客源的挑戰。在因應的策略方面,在地銀行首重加強人員專業訓練,激勵員工提昇自我專業素質及服務形象。其次則為加強鞏固本地中小型企業長期往來關係與深入了解優勢,延伸其上下游客戶,以開發新客源。 This paper conducts the questionnaire survey to understand the perception of the impact of domestic banks acquired by foreign banks in Taiwan and corresponding strategies to compete form the managers of local banks. Our empirical results indicate that based the perspective from rural banks the impact of domestic banks acquired by foreign banks is perceived significant and serious. However, this impact is perceived as much menace to urban banks. As for corresponding strategies, it is important for local banks to enhance their professional training for their employee and then to strengthen their customer relationship for small business loan.
