The trend of globalization has continued from the 20th to 21st century, involving the changes of domains as well as the transition of the entire economic industries and cultural developments. However, the issues of cultural invasion and post-colonial culture brought by the trend of globalization have made many local marginalized cultures in a more dangerous situation. Nevertheless, such issues have enabled local culture which is different from mainstream culture being emphasized. Moreover, how to revive the spirit and symbolism of local culture has already become an issue which has been gradually emphasized by nations and academic circles. My research takes the study of Pili glove puppetry because of its unique local cultured aura as well as its distinction of cultural and creative industries in Taiwan. In addition, the internationalization of glove puppetry which is actively driven by Pili International Media is very admirable. Hence, through wide-ranging questionnaire-based surveys and subordinate information, my research makes analysis and discussion on Pili glove puppetry by the mode of qualitative research, containing the cultural value and drive of glove puppetry, the possible dilemmas of native development and internationalization of Pili glove puppetry, and the issues of known superiorities and weaknesses. Moreover, the factors behind the success of domestic and foreign cultural and creative industries and the possibility of local culture revival in Taiwan by combining glove puppetry culture and tourism industries will be discussed further. It is expected that the results of my research would not only provide some suggestions of Pili International Media entering international markets as well as popularizing glove puppetry culture, but also provide points of reference which are related to industry developments. Finally, I wish that through my research, the Taiwanese local culture can not only be awakened and emphasized, but also be provided opportunities of international awareness and revival.
