林智信版畫的製作技巧和色彩技巧的運用,在繼承了本土傳統的方法之外,還發展和堅持了自身的特色和作品中的人文主義。臺灣傳統的版畫藝術在林智信細緻地刻畫拓印下,呈現出純樸的鄉土情懷,嘉南平原孕育了他的藝術心靈,他又巧妙地藉藝術創作,再現了臺灣獨特的地域風情和幾近消逝的昔日美景與記憶。他的作品不僅具藝術性,更具有珍貴的社會文化價值。故研究林智信的藝術創作成就,使後繼者有所借鑒為本研究之目的。本論文採用下列方法進行研究: 一、歷史學文獻處理法: (1)回溯(2)分析(3)綜合。二、質性研究:(1)訪談法(2)文獻分析法(3)參與觀察法(4)藝術史研究法。 本論文達成之研究結論如下:(一)林智信以20年的歲月獨立完成長達一百二十四公尺的版畫──「迎媽祖」,這是他版畫創作的顛峰,也確實令世人驚嘆的作品。(二)林智信早期的油畫風格,融入木刻版畫特有的「刻」苦精神,再加上現代生活情趣,調和而成為新具象的風貌。刀筆觸感,力透布背,意到筆隨。(三)林智信透過自己對「民族性」、「民俗性」、「鄉土意識」、「個性」的喜愛與追求, 繼承傳統再求新求變,終於畫出屬於他個人的「台灣土味」。(四)林智信今年已七十高齡,現正卯足全力創作「芬芳寶島」250公尺長巨型油畫。總括林智信前半生的創作成果,放眼臺灣的藝術史上堪稱創舉。本研究提出下列建議,供後繼者及文化單位參考:(一)如何實質幫助年輕藝術家(二)設法留住林智信的作品(三)拍攝紀錄片(四)盼走向巨觀恢弘的境界(五)期盼回憶錄出版(六)創作出台灣當代美術之新風貌(七)盼後繼者繼續全面性研究。 The techniques of creating and colouring in Lin Chih-Hsin’s woodcut works not only maintain the methods of original tradition but also develop artists’ humanism. Under fine cutting and rubbing, Lin Chih-Hin’s woodcuts reveal simplicity and his love towards the home town. His sense of art is nurtured by Chia-Nan Plain; furthermore, he reveals Taiwan’s unique landscape and the fainting scenery and memories. His art works display artistry as well as values of culture and society. The purposes of studying and writing about Lin Chih-Hsin’s accomplishment in art are to be used as reference for those who are going to write about him. The dissertation proceeds as follows:1. Art History ResearchThe conclusions of the dissertation are —1. Lin Chih-Hsin has completed a 124-meter-long woodcutting “Greeting Ma-tsu the Goddess” by himself and it took him 20 years to accomplish. He had then achieved the peak of his career.2. Lin’s early oil paintings showed a combination of his artistic spirit and pleasantness of modern life. His work exhibited a never-before-seen feature.3. His passion for “Nationalism”, “Tradition”, “ Localism” ,“Personality” along with innovation have finally allowed him to express his individual style.4. Lin is now at his 70 ; even so, he is still working hard on a 250-meter-long oil painting “Florescent Island”(Taiwan).The painting will mark his art achievements of his previous years. It is a pioneering work in art history of Taiwan. The following suggestions from the dissertation could be used as references for the follow-up researchers and cultural organizations.1.
