There're abundant alpine resources in Taiwan, more and more people choose mountain climbing which can make people close to the nature as daily leisure activities and they put a lot of efforts on relative activities. To know the internal and external factors that would affect climbers and the commonalities of climbers’ behaviors can be references as promoting mountain climbing activities. It's worthy for us to discuss the issue. Thus, this research adopted the points of view of climbers and to discuss the internal and external factors that would affect climbers and the climbers’ behavior traits which based on the theory of planned behavior and serious leisure as research structure. The samples of this paper were those climbers in Taiwan and adopted the way of snowball. There were 434 valid questionnaires received and the structural equation modeling was used to test the relations among different variables. The result indicated that subjects’ attitudes and perceived behavioral control would affect the traits of serious leisure, but the subjective norm doesn’t have much influence. It explained that climbers have much deeper personal perception and not easy to affect by others’ intentions or behaviors. In conclusion, according to the research result, this research proposed relative suggestions and directions for further researching and can be reference for the industries, academics and government agencies.
