    摘要: 本研究主要是以台北市某國中,一位學生因為感冒的誤診在五天後病逝的個案,探究此個案學校處理此危機事件的過程與Metzgar (1994)、Stevenson(1994a,1995)及Goldman(2000)等學者所提出之危機管理模式(crisis management model)的符合程度,並且分析與討論校方對此事件的處理過的程與成效,提供其他學校在未來處理類似事件的參考。 個案研究法為本研究之主要研究方法,對此事件的重要關係人進行半結構式的訪談。訪談過程中,研究者視受訪者的身份及參與事件的程度,延伸不同的問題。接受訪問的人員共十六名,其中男性九位,女性七位,包括校長、行政主管、教師及個案家長等。研究結果呈現,學校處理危機的步驟幾乎都符合學者所提出之程序,在悲傷輔導過程中,學校注意到學生的需求並與個案父母共同合作設計了一個屬於孩子的告別式,讓來不及告別的孩子有機會向個案說再見。本研究的結果證明危機管理模式適用於台灣的學校環境,同時也適當地協助學生處理悲傷。 在事件發生後一年多,為了解老師及學生對整個事件處理的看法和過程的學習,針對某同學的同班同學、合唱團同學,班級導師、輔導老師、合唱團老師等及家長進行焦點團體訪談。參與者共十六名,其中學生七名,老師(含校長)八名,及某同學之母親。 雖然校園事件頻傳,但國內少有這個論題的研究,本研究希望能為生命教育拋磚引玉,讓有心的教育工作者,更進一步的研究。本研究建議: (1)學校設立指導委員會,加強所有成員的支持與協助。 (2)死亡事件的影響不只是學生和家長,還有學校的老師及員工,在面對死亡事件時應受到關照與安慰。 (3)因為一個生命的殞落,創造更多生命的希望-引申生命教育的啟發。
    The present study used an unexpected death of a student in a junior high school in Taiwan as a case. The purpose of the present case study was to examine the extent to which the school's interventions fit the model of crisis management proposed by Metzgar (1994), Stevenson (1994a, 1995), and Goldman (2000). The study also analyzed and discussed the process and effectiveness of the school dealing with the sudden death event in order to provide other schools to learn from the experience. Case study was the main research method of the present study. Semi-structured interview was used to collect information from the people who were involved in dealing with the event. Sixteen people were interviewed by the author including administrators, teachers, and the girl's parents. There were nine males and seven females. An examination of the intervention indicated that, in most respects, the school's actions conformed to Metzgar’s model of crisis management. The school also worked together with the bereaved parents to set up a memorial ceremony for the deceased child's classmates and friends. The service provided her peers with an opportunity to say goodbye. In this instance, the use of crisis management in a school setting in Taiwan was demonstrated to be useful in helping adolescents cope with bereavement within the context of contemporary Chinese culture. After more than a year, in order to know more about how teachers and students perceived the management process and the learning of the students in the event, the research interviewed the deceased child’s classmates, members and teacher of the school chorus team, head teacher of the class, class counselor, and the bereaved parent. Sixteen people were interviewed including seven students and eight teachers as well as the bereaved mother. There were very few studies dealing with this topic. The student expected to get more educators involved in the related studies. The following are the suggestions of the present study. 1. To establish a steering committee to get more support and help from all of the members. 2. To provide support and assistance to all of people in the school. Although students are the most important group needed help, the other members of the school are also needed help and support. In the future, the school needs to focus more on assisting adults other than students. 3. Enlightenment of if the “Life Education.” If a person’s death can create hope and learning for others, his or her death can be more than the moment when the body stops working. His or her spirit brings valuable meaning of life to others.
