    Abstract:   台灣出版市場在1980年之後進入文化工業時期,因消費市場的需求衍生出不少新形態的出版,它反映了現在社會經濟與民生消費的多變,並在出版社以經營市場效益為前提下,逐漸讓圖書的出版流於一種工具形式的表現,加速了圖書商品化的過程。   歷史與大眾傳播賦予編輯為「守門人」的身份,為人們傳遞訊息與文化資訊,而在社會互動與文化工業的環境推動下,編輯角色本質的「生產技術的系統性」、「溝通角色的中介性」、「圖書開發的創意性」也隨之出現轉變,並在各出版階段中展現不同的傳播模式與位置,進而影響到圖書的產製型態。    本論文以從溝通行動之觀點,詮釋編輯主體溝通行動意識在出版工作上的認知,並提出理性溝通的編輯原則。作為大眾傳播資訊的媒介者,編輯必須對相互主體間作瞭解,從主體環境中現實的部分,檢視自己與各主體間溝通的有效程度,加強對出版本質的警覺性,並在工作參與上達成有效的溝通,亦即符合「可理解性」、「真實性」、「正當性」,以及「真誠性」等四個有效的聲稱。
      Taiwan’s publishing market has entered the period of cultural industry since 1980. The needs for consumer market have evolved many new types of publication. This reflects the changing of the type of current society’s economy and consuming behavior. And under the consideration of cost effectiveness, the book publishing has also turned into a form of instrument, and accelerated the process of book’s commercialization.    Editor has been given the role as gatekeeper by history and mass communications, to convey messages and cultural information. However, pushed by the society interaction and cultural industry, the essences of editor’s role, such as the system of production technique, the medium of communication role, and the creativity of book development, have also changed, and have demonstrated different communication patterns and positions in all the phases of publication, and furthermore, influences the production type of book.    From the point of communication action theory, this thesis interprets editor subject communication activity consciousness in the recognition in publishing work, and presents the editorial principle of rational communication. As a medium of mass communication, editor must understand the interacting subjects, needs to inspect the effectiveness of the communication between all the subjects and himself from the realistic part of the subject’s environment, reinforces the vigilance toward the essence of publication, and reaches effective communication at work participation. In other words, editor’s role needs to correspond with the four validity claims of comprehensibility, truth, truthfulness, and rightness.
