摘要:	本論文旨在探討臨終陪伴歷程的信仰與希望，採取現象學取向的深度訪談方法，透過臨終陪伴家屬主體經驗描述，呈現臨終陪伴的信仰與希望之轉化及澄清歷程。　　　本研究透過宗教觀點詮釋「善終」的意義。目的是瞭解在此「善終」意義脈絡之下，有宗教信仰（一貫道）的個人在陪伴臨終者面對死亡時的內在調適歷程，並探究其在宗教義理與實際情境的對話與辯證歷程中，如何展現其信仰的力量以及如何印證、澄清其信靠的真理，並再藉此瞭解陪伴家屬如何在各個迥異的臨終處境下，有意義地詮釋「善終」以及喪親事件對其生命態度與信仰的影響。研究發現：在面對死亡的必然性、悲傷的無可避免性以及可能面對的各種不同臨終處境的不確定性之下，能給予臨終陪伴家屬最大的支持、安慰與力量的是「信仰」與「親情」。一貫道「必然善終」的信仰觀點，安慰且轉化了生命深層的焦慮與不安，讓曾經共命相依的臨終陪伴家屬，找到了繼續走下去的力量。亦即「善終」不是理念，而是生命的態度與實踐；而歷經喪親事件後的生命態度的轉變，將是喪親家屬朝向善終的實踐基礎。本研究提出的觀點可提供臨終關懷領域參考，希望能協助臨終陪伴家屬更認識生命、更瞭解死亡，提昇其面對死亡與悲傷調適的能力。　　The aim of the thesis is to discuss the faith and hope applying to the terminal stage. The main process of the thesis is to take the “in-depth interview” adapted from phenomenology, based on the experiencing description from the family of the terminal patients, we display the course of the transformation and clarification of faith and hope in terminal caring.　　　The researcher annotates the meaning of “good death” from the religious point of view. The goal of the thesis is to understand, under the meaning of “good death”, what is the internal adjusting process of those individuals with faith in religion---I Kuan Tao---when they accompany the terminal patients facing death; we also discuss in the process of dialog and dialectic of religious veritas and actual situation, how do we display the power of religion and how to approve and clarify the truth we believe; we use this to understand how do those family members of terminal patients interpret “good death” meaningfully, also, how does the bereavement affect their living attitude and belief. The outcome of the research shows that while under the utterness of facing death, inevitability of grieving and uncertainty of dealing with the various kind of terminal situation, what give the family members of terminal caring the best support, the most comfort and the utmost strength are “religion” and “family love”. The religious point of I Kuan Tao---“necessity of good death”, comforts and transfers the anxiety and uneasiness in life, it helps those family members of terminal patients whom have once depended on each other for life, to gain the strength to keep on going on in life. “Good death” is not only the ideal, but also the attitude and fulfillment of life; the transformation of living attitude after experiencing bereavement, would be the foundation for the bereaved family to head into “good death”. The outcome of the research could be the reference of terminal caring domain; our wish is to help those family members of terminal companions to know life and death more clearly, and promote their abilities of adjustment while facing death and experiencing grief.
