The aim of this research is to explore (1) what kinds of behaviors and mental process in seeking Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) on the part of physicians, when they are periously ill themselves, (2) how CAM influence these physicians and the people around them. Employing purpostive sampling, the researcher interviewed six physicians. In-depth interview method is used to analyze the collected data. The findings of this thesis show that the main impacts to physicians' seeking CAM are due to reading, related publications realizing the limit of Western medical science, following spiritual teacher's instructions and not having a dislike of CAM. Besides, their "roles" interact with their behaviors, thoughts and emotions when seeking CAM. Most important of all, their roles changed from "I'm a doctor" through "I'm a patient" to "I'm both a doctor and a patient." It is not the purpose to cure their illness at all, but to persuit a deep spiritual development. According to the findings of this research, some suggestions are offered to the Medical Education, National Health Institution, the legislation for CAM and approaches for future research.
