The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the family money rearing and consumption behavior of junior high school students in Changhua City at present time. The influence of the population statistic variables on the family money rearing and consumption behavior and its relevance was analyzed. This study recruited 440 junior high school students in Changhua City for questionnaire survey. The questionnaires included "family money rearing scale" and "consumption behavior scale" survey tools. The collected data were analyzed by statistical methods of applied descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA and Person product-moment correlation. The empirical results were as following: 1) In the family money rearing, the differences of personal backgrounds among junior high school students showed partial significant differences on dimensions of “whether pocket money was given at a fixed time”, “amount of pocket money”, “money saving habit”, “education level of parents” and “parents’ occupation”. However, no significant difference was shown on dimensions of “gender” and “birth ranking”. 2) In the consumption behavior, the differences of personal backgrounds among junior high school students showed partial significant differences on dimensions of “whether pocket money was given at a fixed time”, “amount of pocket money” and “money saving habit”. However, no significant difference was shown on dimensions of “gender”, “birth ranking”, “education level of parents” and “parents’ occupation”. 3) These results suggested that there was significant correlation between the family money rearing and consumption behavior.
