本文旨在探究美國布魯克迭爾社區學院(Brookdale Community College)的課程發展之哲學基礎、課程結構及課程發展之評析,以為我國社區學院及大學課程規劃之參考。準此,本文依立意取樣原則,選取布魯迭爾社區學院為研究對象,採取個案研究法,以文件分析及訪問方式,蒐集資料,進行研究。其主要結果如下: 1.布魯克迭爾社區學院的課程發展建基於資本主義與民主精神;2.課程發展結構深受「目標導向」主導;3.程發展具有制度性;4.課程發展深具社區性、公民性、多元性、個別性、統整性、平等性等性質,能滿足個人教育需求,促進教育機會均等,提昇民主實踐能力;5.課程發展具有泡沫價值觀、商品化、學術課程平庸化、缺乏外在評鑑之缺失。 Through Documentary Analysis and Depth Interview this paper attempts to analyze the philosophical foundation of curriculum, curriculum structure and development of curriculum in the Brookdale Community College, USA with a view to proposing recommendations to improve the curriculum design of community colleges in Taiwan. The following findings are resulted: 1. The curriculum development in Brookdale Community College is based on the guideline of capitalism and democracy. 2. The curriculum structure in Brookdale Community College is goal-directed. 3. The curriculum development in Brookdale Community College is institutionalized. 4. The curriculum development in Brookdale Community College can meet the individual educational needs, facilitate the actualization of ideal of educational equality, and enhance the practical competency of democratic citizenship. 5. The curriculum development in Brookdale Community College runs the risk of going toward mediocrity and commercialization owing to being in want of external assessment.
