當代新儒家曾昭旭先生曾經以「街頭的儒家」自許，這「街頭的儒家」不一定只侷限在一般所謂「街頭運動」的「街頭」，而是一種「社會參與」的概念。曾昭旭先生長期以電影讀書會做為「社會參與」活動的一種途徑，活動建立在理論之上，才不會是一時感性的衝動，本文以曾昭旭的電影評論學為對象，討論曾先生的電影觀、電影詮釋方法等。曾昭旭認為電影是隱喻藝術的代表，電影詮釋分為感動、詮釋、檢查、再欣賞四個步驟。透過電影讀書會的社會參與，作為意義點化、心靈覺醒的社會運動形式。 The contemporary Neo-Confucian Mr. Zeng Zhaoxu once promised the "Confucianism on the Street".
