This narrative research is based on the complicated problems and relationships between the researcher and family members. People initially are depended on their family members after being born as well as affected by family for requiring living supports. However, the westernized society of Taiwan made traditional family collapse and decline, bringing complicated and pluralistic family combinations which made family members exhausted and oppressive. The research is to narrate a life story by focusing on the self-identification within personal life growth process through a middle-aged male who was dominated by traditional patriarchy family. Furthermore, the research also is to explore how this male go through the development of self-identification and family identification, and modify himself when facing frustrations of marriage, parent-child and business issues, by discussing the changes of family structure from general family to the family with two wives, and later to separate. The ways of narrative analysis referred by Lieblich are adopted to analyze the texts, anticipating scrutinizing life story of the participant, scrutinizing how the participant retrieves his passion of life and re-comprehends and accepts himself to start again. The results reveal that albeit the participant attempted to get rid of the problems of family relationship of last generation, he was still inevitable to seek help from family members and religious groups to modify himself.
