Abstract:	按照現代思想史上一般的看法，在高度現代性的社會環境底下，經典的最大問題，主要在政治、社會乃至人生各層面，逐漸與現代生活的情境產生隔閡。然而本文認為，此一觀點本身即為值得檢討的問題。經典與現代情境的距離，是否造成今日在詮釋經典的具體障礙？對於這樣的提問，本文認為只能透過對中國經典詮釋傳統的具體考察，去反思如何閱讀經典？此一經典詮釋的問題，才能予以回答。即此，本文認為，「甚矣章」的經文及傳統解釋與時代之扞格，具體而微地呈現了中國經典在當代的尷尬處境，因此本文希望透過「甚矣章」的討論，去探析「甚矣章」的歷代詮釋者，從皇侃、伊川、朱熹到劉寶楠，如何進行詮釋，以釐清經典應如何閱讀這個問題。本文發現，歷代詮釋者總是在一種解釋脈絡與經文的互相詮釋下，對經文加以闡釋，在解釋者與文本的共同活動中，讓文本的意義顯現。詮釋者所連繫的脈絡，主要受兩個因素影響，一是「詮釋者認同的學術傳統」，其次是「詮釋者所勾連的時代或個人情境」。因此，對於經文與時代懸隔的疑慮，本文認為這種質疑是從文本中心看問題所致，實際上的經典詮釋，詮釋者永遠位居於中心位置，是他們主動連繫解釋脈絡以闡發經典的。以此之故，本文主張閱讀經典時，應該追問經典對我有何意義？從這個問題出發去安立、連繫一個對自己有意義的解釋脈絡，並在理解與應用合一的解釋活動中，讓經典參與到自我意義的建構之中。 The principle goal of this paper is to reveal the significant meanings of texts through the interactions between interpreters and texts while interpreters concern the mutual interpretative interactions between with the explanatory contexts of the interpreters and the classics. There are two elements reflecting the interrelationship between the contexts and the interpreters: ”the academic tradition recognized by interpreter” and ”era or personal context of the interpreter.” The interrogation of classics provides different barriers for interactive discussions between the classics and modernity. The only method for answering such concerns is through the reading of historical interpretations of Chinese classics texts; therefore, this paper will discuss the significant meanings of ”Chapter of Extreme Weakness” written by a number of interpretations of interpreters of Chinese classics.
