India's "Act East Policy" overlaps with Taiwan's "New Southbound Policy", which is the realistic basis for strengthening bilateral relations. Although India and Taiwan have made some progress and signed some memoranda in recent years, , Taiwan India relations are neither close nor important, in terms of trade and investment volume. If Taiwan can improve the quality and quantity of trade with India and can increase foreign direct investment in India, India-Taiwan relations can be elevated to a new level. Taiwan can become a contributing partner for India by supporting the Make in India policy and the Indo-Pacific Ocean Initiative.
