After World War II, nearly more than 600,000 of the military personnel and an unknown number of dependents from mainland China were successively relocated to Taiwan, creating a later culture culture of military housing quarters. The "military housing quarter" and its synonym "household dormitory" first appeared in the archives of the Ministry of National Defense in 1950 and 1948, respectively, which were related to the large number of military personnel and civilians who came to Taiwan from mainland China around 1949. This paper explores the process of shaping the life culture of military housing quarter, starting from the difficulties in obtaining the proof of identity and living under someone else's house. It is not until the second half of the 1950s, when the military housing were built by National Women's League in phases, most of the military families that accompanied the government to Taiwan began to be able to obtain a better living environment. In addition, the process of shaping the culture of military housing quarter is described in the fields of the management and welfare of military families, health care and insurance, education, emergency assistance, and even the traditional market, urban planning, etc.
