This study investigated about the whole life course and experience of Veteran from Pingtung Veterans Home and the relationship between the elderly situations. Guided by the hermeneutic–phenomenological method, the researcher collects the empirical data mainly through the field participation in the family-house of a veteran home and the depth-interviews on the three participants therein. The findings from the research of the core issue is "home" , projecting the life course of the elder veterans, who followed the army withdrew from the Mainland to Taiwan, where after four decades of military life is lived and displaced their family. After removing the military gown in Taiwan, they solitarily face the challenges of the variety of life and struggling to establish their own home. However, when entering the old age, the home that the veterans chose to spend their rest of elderly life was riddled with illness. For dying, the elder veterans psychologically have their own sorts of understanding, preparation, and reviewing their own life experience. They also have the interpretation of the meaning of life and self-attitude about death. Therefore, for veterans to expound the elderly situation and life experience, they can be used as a reference basis for other studies of elderly person. Referring to the secondary-veterans basis and other related research, it can be contributed to the relevant government agencies and welfare organizations in order to provide external facilities and resources, and keep more attention on the internal aspects, like psychological and spiritual problems. In the view to enhance the overall quality and content Veterans Home veterans care work, promoting alternative thinking policies of the elderly and the social welfare.
