    Abstract:   本論文以《藥師琉璃光如來本願功德經》為探究之文本,此經典上半部之要點,即是藥師如來十二大願內容。依此十二大願各願之特性,以四聖諦與各願特性相符之處,分析十二大願之內涵,以期能了知世間法中苦之事實與理解造苦之因,以及出世間法中修習滅苦之因與達到滅苦之境;而經典另有半部要點,為藥師如來基於慈悲,為饒益眾生,在眾生生命遭逢死亡與災難橫厄時,受持藥師如來法門者,得蒙生死兩端之利益。生之利益包括滅除貪吝、愚痴與妒惱以淨化本心,得不墮三惡趣利益,並因專心一志感應藥師如來心懷,得蒙消災解厄等生之利益;死之利益則在受持八分齋戒,體解如來言行,得蒙往生淨土、天上與上等人間之饒益。是以,此經綜括而言,吾人不僅能依法門修習得人間利樂,更重要者,倘能深入體解藥師如來發此十二大願之內涵,應能得更究竟之利樂。
      This thesis takes The Sutra of the Merit and Virtue of the Past Vows of Medicine Master Vaidurya Light Tathagata as the text of study. The main point of the first half of this classic is the content of the Twelve Great Vows of Medicine Master Tathagata. Based on the characteristics of each one of the twelve Great Vows, analyze the similar connotation between Four Noble Truths and the characteristics of each vow, in order to understand the facts of suffering and the causes of suffering in worldly rules, as well as practicing the cause of exterminating suffering and reaching the state of extermination in transcending worldly rules. And the other half point of this classic, for Medicine Master Tathagata is based on compassion, for the benefit of all beings, and when the life of all beings encounters death and disaster, the holder of Medicine Master Tathagata gains the benefit of both life and death. The benefits of life include the elimination of greed, anger, and ignorance in order to purify the mind and gain the benefit of not falling three lower realms; and the benefits of life, such as the elimination of disasters and the relief of evil, due to the concentration to induce the mind of Medicine Master Tathagata. The benefits of death After receiving eight precepts, the understanding is like words and deeds, and you will be benefited from living in the pure land, heaven and the upper human class. Therefore, in a nutshell, not only can we learn human happiness according to the the Dharma, but more importantly, if we can deeply understand the connotation of Medicine Master Tathagata who issued the Vows, we should be able to gain even more happiness.
