Performing arts groups are one of the cultural and creative industries listed in the Cultural and Creative Industries Act. In order to survive in this highly competitive environment, traditional performing arts groups have begun to change their business models in response to the changing trends in public popularity, and innovation is an issue that almost every performing arts group needs to face. This study focuses on the guzheng orchestra, a traditional performing arts group, and examines the factors of success that enable the group to strike a balance between tradition and innovation so that it can continue to develop. In this study, the issues are divided into six major areas: the positioning and feasibility of developing the performance market, innovation in performance style, innovation in business model and marketing strategy, training of professional performing arts personnel, other cross-industry cooperation strategies, and current and future planning of business operation. Three guzheng orchestras that had been in existence for more than ten years were selected, obtained interview data through semi-structured in-depth interviews, and compiled them to analyze the effective business models of the orchestras. In recent years, in addition to the need to pursue innovation in performance style, the impact of the Covid-19 in the past few years has also greatly impacted performance groups.
