    摘要:   本研究的研究對象為J.K. 羅琳的《哈利波特-神秘的魔法石》, 試圖從奇幻元素、人物設定、故事情節及架構三個面向,探討這部《哈利波特》的開山之作能夠廣受歡迎的成功要素。  第一章說明本研究的研究動機與目的,針對相關的文獻做探討,並介紹研究方法與章節安排。第二章先探究《哈利波特》的作者J.K羅琳的創作歷程,再依據文本,解析J.K羅琳的寫作風格及特色。並回顧西方奇幻文學的源流做回顧,找出奇幻文學的發展時間軸,藉以分析《哈利波特》奇幻元素的原型。第三章利用佛格勒的英雄旅程理論,對《哈利波特-神秘的魔法石》的敘事模式進行剖析。再根據佛格勒的角色原型理論,找出作品中各主角及配角的角色功能。第四章探討《哈利波特-神秘的魔法石》的主題思想,情節設計與發展,並探究其語言藝術。第五章的結論乃依據二、三、四章的研究結果,呼應第一章提出的研究問題,解析J.K羅琳在奇幻元素的運用、眾多角色的刻畫及敘事結構的安排的獨到之處。  本文分析結果發現,《哈利波特-神秘的魔法石》的奇幻要素有來自西方經典文學的淵源,各主要角色任務皆與佛格勒的理論相互對應,哈利波特的成長與挑戰也都呼應佛格勒的十二個英雄旅程階段,敘事結構更是與好萊塢主流編劇理論不謀而合。
      The study aims to examine “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone” by J.K.ROWLING’s book, trying to explore the success factors of three aspects of her books, such as fantastic elements, character settings, storylines and architectures.  The present paper is divided into five sections:  Section one explains the research objectives and purposes of the present paper. Moreover, this section examines relevant literature, and illustrates the research methodology and structure of the present paper.  Section two provides a brief biography of J.K.ROWLING that introduces her background, the process of creation and creative notion,and provides an explanation of the classical works that she has referenced in her works.  Section three investigates the story’s content, protagonists, and the utilizing the theory by Fogler’s “Hero's journey” to examine Harry Potter's first-year adventure at Hogwarts in the novel.   Section four discusses the artistic style of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone”through its plot, narrative skills, and the art of language.  Section five provides a comprehensive and coherent conclusion integrating the previous sections.  The findings suggest that the “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone” contain rich and detailed fantasy elements, which the main characters correspond to Fogler's theory. The growth and challenges of Harry Potter also echo to the twelve sections of Fogler’s “Hero's journey”,the narrative structure also conforms to the mainstream on Hollywood screenwriting.
