    Abstract: 教育與學習成為現代人們從事旅遊的主要動機,近年教育觀光的發展潛力在觀光市場區隔中更是不容被忽視。由於少子化造成不少偏遠國小已面臨存廢難題,有些偏遠國小逆勢而為,善用當地自然資源優勢,結合社區特色,不但沒有被裁併危機,且巧妙結合教育與旅遊,吸引不少遊學人潮,創造生機。本研究因此以嘉義奮起湖中和國小為案例,透過問卷、深度訪談、參與觀察與方法目的鏈等多元交叉方式,同時從需求與供應面探討偏遠學校發展教育觀光的意義與價值,並且分析偏遠國小在旅遊產品設計、行銷與管理三方面如何善用其獨特的環境資源進行教育觀光。研究發現,大部分參與遊學的學童對於當地的自然資源都感到驚訝、新奇,且美麗等獨特體驗,這顯示偏遠國小是激發學童好奇心、培養美學與想像力的體驗遊學場域。校方在政府政策相關補助下必須結合當地社區力量,才得以凝聚成功教育觀光的關鍵因子,且吸引遊客的精緻遊程內容與另類教育的體驗度假更是促成偏遠國小創造教育觀光新價值的重要因素。
