    Abstract: 潮劇又名潮洲戲、潮音戲、潮洲白字戲，用潮洲方言演唱，是形成於廣東東部、福建南部的一支古老地方劇種，屬於元明南戲的一支，在明代稱為潮腔、潮調。潮劇行當由南戲的生、旦、淨、外、貼、末，發展到現在為十類丑、七類旦、五類生、三類淨，顯現出角色及分工的細緻變化。潮劇傳統劇目可分為兩大類：一類來自南戲傳奇和雜劇；一類取材當地民間傳說故事，或由事實編撰的地方劇目。舞台藝術方面，不論是服裝、穿戴、布景和道具，多用潮繡、畫屏、紗燈、剪紙、抽紗等精巧的工藝，和潮洲細膩優美的工藝美術有異曲同工之妙。圖為潮劇《夫人城》舞台演出內容之一。
