    Abstract: 民國57年9月13日住於埔里鎮觀音山之王連科居士，突然夢三人頭頂上一大片光明，金色晃耀如佛光，隔日王居士預必有責人到來，不敢外出在山恭迎，近午時，真見一師父領著二位居士出現在山路中，由於夢境啟示觀樂果士人法相莊嚴，來此尋找建寺用地，想必是佛菩薩指引，滿懷歡心的將自己的土地奉獻給上人，上人得知王居士夢境豪光雲山天，佛光普照因而為此地提名為「佛光寺」。
