    Abstract: 這是一張關於台東縣蘭嶼鄉紅頭村雅美族人造船的紀錄。照片當中描寫了一位雅美族人造船的情景。照片當中所顯現的工具只有斧頭與鋸子等簡單的工具。雅美族具有非常高超的造船技藝，他們不用尺和一些現代精密的工具就可以建造出一艘非常精緻細密的船，是全世界最高的造船技藝之一。雅美族造船，必須經過討論決定。族人造船的時機有兩個，一是船已破舊。二是船組升級，「如八人船升格為十人船」。
