摘要:	2013 年9 月擁有美食王國之稱的台灣發生食品安全風暴，除了舉國譁然，民眾莫不恐慌：麵包成分可以造假、食用油可以造假、飲料可以造假、食用米可以造假……，到底什麼才是真的？亞里斯多德在《詩學》說道「詩比歷史更為真實」，用以表達藝術作品所反映的社會現狀，有時比真實的歷史紀錄更為純然蕪雜。幾米文學繪本的內容經常流露出城市裡升斗小民的歡樂與哀愁，反映人類生存在世無法解決、無能為力的無奈，幾米的圖像與文字比照片或報導訴說的真相更為真實。2013 年10 月幾米出版《真的假的啊？》(Lie to me？)文學繪本，正當台灣食品安全、政治人物說法真假敏感的當下，如同本書封面，那位綠髮沖天、瞪大眼睛的小女孩，雙瞳炯炯發出白焰，齜牙裂嘴嘆道：「真的假的啊?」在我們生存的時間與空間裡，到底什麼才是真實？透過幾米的圖像與文字，象徵判準的二律背反，幾米並沒有正確明白地告知讀者，反而引領著讀者循著自我的量尺，繼續存在於真假莫辨的真實世界中。藝術符號承載著作者的情感與思想，經由讀者的解讀，再次詮釋與創造作者的理念，因此「是真不是假」？「是假亦是真」？形成幾米《真的假的啊？》獨特美學。 During September 2013, a storm of food safety crisis swept across Taiwan, which has long been praised as a food paradise. As anger, shock, and fear grabbed the country, people started to wonder what they could trust, when everything seemed dubious and deceptive: from bread ingredients to cooking oil, from beverages to rice.Aristotle in his Poetics states that “poetry is a more philosophical and higher thing than history. In other words, art is sometimes a more potent and lucid expression of reality than historical accounts. Jimmy Liao’s works are one such example. In his picture books, the joys and sadness of common city dwellers are often depicted, which in a broader sense reflects the unsolvable yet unavoidable dilemmas common to everyone’s life. In this respect,Jimmy Liao’s illustrations and writings speak a more real truth than news reports. In October 2013, his latest picture book, Lie to me?, was published, just at a time when truth and lies became hard to distinguish, and nothing seemed trustworthy, be them food safety or politician’s statements. The book cover shows a little girl,her green hair shooting up, her eyes wide open, with two sharp rays of white light shooting from her big eyes.She seemed to cry out “Lie to me?” in all vividness. What is really real in this world we live in? In Jimmy Liao’s pictures and writings, the antinomy of judgment is never clearly stated; instead, it continues to exist in the real world where truth and lie remain almost indistinguishable, and the readers only have their standards to rely on.Symbols of art are the vessels of the artist’s ideology, which is recreated anew from readers’ interpretations. In Lie to Me?, the unique aesthetics of the coexistence of truth and lie is thus constructed.
