    Abstract:   本研究的主要目的在於探討佛教道場中在家居士的人口特徵對於佛教類書籍的閱讀行為與消費行為的關聯,進而瞭解其閱讀動機對選擇佛教類書籍的影響因素。本研究的範圍與對象是針對高雄地區佛教寺院或道場的在家居士,研究方法採問卷調查的方式,當場填答與回收。 研究結果發現,高雄地區佛教寺院或道場的在家居士對佛教書籍出版品的閱讀率達80.6﹪,且其年齡、教育程度、信仰時間、參與宗教活動次數等與閱讀行為有顯著相關。在消費部分,有閱讀且有購買書籍的佔68.3﹪,其年齡、職業與購買有顯著相關;閱讀行為的閱讀頻率、每週閱讀時間、閱讀書籍的來源與購買有顯著相關。由此推論,佛教的發展與佛教類書籍的出版品發展有很大的影響,也影響在家居士閱讀佛教類書籍與消費。
      The main purpose of this research is trying to discover the key linkages between Buddhist publications reading behaviors and consuming behaviors. Thereafter, the motive of choosing Buddhist books is also realized. The research samples collected are locality Buddhist people in Kaohsiung area, and the research method is the questionnaire survey which is filled and collected on site. The result indicates that the reading ratio of Buddhist books of locality Buddhist people in Kaohsiung area reaches 80.6%. The ages, level of education, belief time, religion activity participate frequencies are significantly related to reading behaviors. Regarding consumption, people who has reading activity and consumption reality occupies 68.3%. Among them, a person’s age and the professions are significantly related to consumption behaviors. Moreover, the reading frequencies, reading time a week, the location where books are purchased are significantly related with consumption behaviors. Generally speaking, the result of this research indicates that the development of Buddhism has the effect on the development of Buddhist publications and on the reading behaviors and the consumption behaviors of locality Buddhist people as well.
