The main objective of this paper is to examine the exent to which currenteconomic and social sicence theory can illuminate the strategies that Integrated Agricultural Adjustment Program ( IAAP ) for Taiwan have proposed.These theories are divided into three groups including: ヾ theories of socioeconomic development, ゝ partiul theories of economic and agriculturaldevelopment, ゞ the induced innovation model of agricultural development. The induced innovation model pointed out that the interaction of manynatural, economic, techonological, institutional and social varialnes determinethe productivity of farmers.
