Huwei Jianguo Military Dependents' Village is a place that went through war years. Its history can be traced back to World War II. In order to increase pilots' participation in the Pacific War, the Japanese air force built the barracks area in Huwei airfield. After the war, this area has become the military dependents' village of the air force since then, that is, the current Jianguo Military Dependents' Village. Over a long period of time, the Japanese Military Dependents’Village has experienced the life footprints of soldiers and their families for generations. Now it has become ruins after relocation of residents. The current Huwei Jianguo Mlitary Dpendents' Village still retains its original construction and a large number of facilities built by the Japanese Army during the war, including water conservancy facilities, large air raid shelters, small turtle air raid shelters, storage reservoirs and so on. This study takes the current Jianguo Mlitary Dpendents'Village as the research object. Through qualitative research and in-depth interviews, we hope to have an in-depth understanding of the activation and reuse of unoccupied spaces, cultural preservation and community participation in the military dependents' village, all of which can be used as a reference for the activation and reuse of space as well as the promotion of tourism in the future. In this study,1、 The difference between the restoration and activation of architectural space and the preservation of local military dependents' village culture needs to be integrated.2、 The willingness in participation and co-prosperity for community and residents needs to be increased.3、 The highlights of the dependents' village can be combined with the surrounding industrial activities to form a sightseeing connection.
